Today's DIY was inspired by
Wendy and her J. Crew silk shirt in Heart Throb. I used to associate hearts with being a little girl, but then saw how chic it could be. Not sure I pulled it off here, but doesn't hurt to try! I made this sleeveless in preparation for summer with a little tie-neck for visual interest. Unfortunately, you can't really see that detail since the print is so busy. Just shows I didn't learn my
lesson from here.

Gucci Magenta Wedges
Leather Horsebit Bracelet
Gold Bangles
DIY Pearl Bracelet
Timex + J. Crew Strap
I used Butterick B5464 as the basis for the blouse, but cut the front on the fold and added a small slit. Blouse is fully lined with a rolled hem.
How do you feel about hearts?
Cute blouse! I love the print. From afar, you can' see that it's hearts, and up close you're like wow, so cute! Great job! As always.

Beautiful blouse. I love the heart pattern. The cut of the blouse makes it appropriated for an adult.
ReplyDeleteReally cute blouse. I've always loved heart patterns, but like you, had the fear of seeming childish. I guess it all depends on how one wears it. : )
ReplyDeleteI'm warming up to hearts too. I saw a J.Crew SA wearing Wendy's heart shirt and loved it on her. I think most sizes sold out pretty quickly so we never had a chance! *cries* Love your version, especially how you styled it with the striped belt!
ReplyDeleteThats a gorgeous blouse!
ReplyDeleteI love the hearts pattern :) I think it goes perfect with a neutral bottom
