Box Pleated Skirt DIY

I've been trying to devote time to round 2 of my black tie DIY, but the more I do, the more of a "sewing block" I have.  So I decided to relax my sewing brain with a simple skirt project.

Difficulty: Easy

Time: ~2 hours

Pattern:  Make your own from a couple of rectangles - tutorial here

Materials
  • 1 yard of 56.5" wide home decor Fabric from the Fabric Outlet (Mission)
  • 9" invisible zipper

Skirt and how I wore it to work

Of course I made one for E too :)

Unrelated, but I'm totally in love with this necklace (eBay) :)

Tutorial for this skirt is coming up in the next post!

    1. Yes! I've been eyeing Parisian prints for an eternity and finally found one in real life! Thanks Cee - I'm not much of a styler, so that means a lot :)

  6. This is so freaking cute! If possible, can you do a tutorial? I have started up my super basic sewing work and am excited to try some things for ME! Right now, I'm just making a lot of reusable snack bags for my sons' lunches. (sadly, no DD, so no cute mommy/me outfits).
So happy to see your food posts from the Bay Area. Do you like Indian? There are a few places there I miss, along with the great dim sum, chow fun and Thai.

    3. I thought you were wearing the Crewlet version & then I remembered your Ebay link. You don't need that one. This one looks good!
