Prabal Gurung for J. Crew Inspired DIY Teaser

I fell in love with Prabal Gurung's Exploding Bow Blouse for J. Crew when I saw it on Chloe.  It is now sold out so I wanted to try my hand at making an inspired piece but in a dress version.  Here is my work in progress (though I did change my bow orientations to match where I placed the shoulder straps).  I'm using a silky teal fabric with navy blue edges:

On Sunday, I hope to post the finished dress with a little bow tutorial if you're interested :)  What do you think?  Yay or Nay?

  3. YAYAYAY! I too, loved this collection, but the prices were hard to swallow. Elle mentioned that some pieces had a limited quantity, so chances of it making to sale is pretty slim, if any. I think your dress looks amazing already... what else is there to do?

It's too bad you only listed jewelry in your etsy store...because your clothes would sell like hotcakes! :)

  12. Sydney - Thank you very much! Actually I patterned this dress off of a regular A-line BCBG dress that fits me both during and after pregnancy so I can wear this now :)

Fashion and Number - Aww, thank you for the super sweet words!!

Cee - Thanks so much! In the pic, the bow was only pinned together so I had to go back and hand-tack them in place. Not entirely sure how the bows are going to look after being washed so I might resort to dry-cleaning this.

nomoneylotsofstyle - Thank you for the kind words! I hope you find the upcoming tutorial post helpful!

LePetiteLemon - Aww, thanks so much doll! You are so sweet!

Francesca - Thank you - you are too kind!! :)

Elle - Thank you!! I was looking through my fabric collection and wanted something a little different but yet in a similar vein :) Maybe someday on the clothing - we'll see how it goes ;)

    Gigi - Aww, thank you!

Purses and Puppies - Thank you so much! I tried many different ways of arranging the bows and settled on this one - I'm glad you like it - it means a lot!

Annie - Thanks so much! Your comments always make me blush bc they are SO NICE! :)

Elaine - Thank you so much dear!! :)
