Cluster Pendants on Long Necklaces DIY

My current obsession revolves around long necklaces with cluster pendants (and pearls!).  I feel like they add a certain amount of flair to any kind of outfit.  The one above is made from some spare pearl beads and bright silver chain.  All you really need is to cut 3 (I think mine was about 3", 2", and 1") lengths of chain and then add headpins to your beads.  Loop the ends of your headpins into your chain (you can also attach this first to jump rings).  Then add some beads to the middle portions of your chains until it achieves the look you are going for.

The second pendant I made was refashioned from a White House Black Market keychain of all things.  I originally purchased it as a bag charm but found it overwhelmed my purse a bit.  So I removed all of the charms, added some chain and jump rings, and voila!  Instant necklace.

  1. I love the pearl cluster necklace! I don't know if you wear gold accessories but I also think this would look amazing with an antique gold chain and rose/cream pearls. So pretty!

  2. I agree with Jess! Btw, have you thought about setting up shop on Etsy? You make really nice things and it would probably be a good source of discretionary income to spend on more shopping :P

  3. Thanks Jess! I actually do have gold chain and rose/cream pearls - I think you just found my next project! :)

Thanks PetiteXXS! I know my sewing isn't good enough to sell but maybe the jewelry is an option. Maybe I'll do a giveaway soon so that a fellow blogger could review it. If they like it, I might set up a small Etsy or blog shop. It would definitely be nice to fund my shopping habit!! :D
