Old Navy Fitting Room Reviews

I visited Old Navy this past weekend to spend my Super Cash and found some very cute options:

Striped Color-Block Jersey Dress, XS, (buy here)
This is actually a dress, but I prefer it as a top.  I'll probably trim off the excess length and save the bottom for a future project.  I love the color scheme (have an affinity for red / white / blue combos) and it reminds me of a tee that J. Crew had not too long ago:
Verdict: Bought.  Fits well and great colors!

Peacoat in Gestalt Green, XS (buy here)
I currently have a color crush on green so was immediately drawn to this coat.  The sleeves are too long (covers my thumbs), but the torso fits decently while still providing enough looseness for fall layers.  The regular price is $39.94 which isn't a bad price for a coat, but knowing ON, they will likely have a sale soon.
Verdict: Will wait to buy on sale

Roll-Cuff Blouse, XS, (buy here)
The store has many more color options than what's currently shown online.  Online has ivory, blue, tomato red (which they call tobiko orange), and purple.  The stores, in addition to the online colors, have lavender, mint, and orange sherbet.  I love how this has a silk blouse-esque look (and feels silky too).  I rather like the fit of this as well.  The cuffed sleeves actually fall where I'd expect for a 3/4 length (which never happens, I always have to push sleeves up to achieve that look on my short arms) and the shirt has the perfect amount of torso room for a blouse-y feel without being too floppy.  I was on the fence about this particular color so decided to go with more saturated colors - blue and red.  My favorite part is that they use buttons in a matching color instead of the pervasive white button I hate.
Verdict: Purchased the blue and red versions.

I've said this before, but I really am liking all of ON's options this year.

Which retailer have you been impressed with this year?

  1. I don't shop ON often, but headed there this weekend after seeing another blogger wearing that silky blouse in a striped version. I ended up getting it and absolutely love it. I was tempted by the color you tried on because it looks lika a nice neutral.

  3. ON is coming up with some good stuff offlate! Initially their fit would be off or it was too large and I felt everything looked night-dressy! but not anymore.
The shirt fits you so well. Im going to check it out when I get a chance. Thanks for the review!

  4. I stop by ON every Tuesday and Thursday while I wait for my husband to get out of his class. I see a few things that look nice but not anything I want to have. ON does have the cutest baby clothes. It make me wish I have a little one to shop for. =)

  7. i love the color pairings of all those stripe dresses. i tried on one myself yesterday. but the xs is too large for me. i can see myself easily altering it, but i'm too lazy. mb if i bought the dress on a super sale, it might be worth my time. so i'm gonna try to keep an eye on it if it goes down to like $12.

    1. I'm not sure if this is good news, but my past jersey dress from ON shrank crazy. Sooo, if you find it at a good price, you can probably shrink it down :)

  11. Unfortunately, I was disappointed by the striped ON dresses; the cheap fabric and colors. I liked the earlier ones w/ ruched shoulders much better, but have really liked the Gap and BR versions.

    1. Sorry to hear that! I've heard mixed reviews on ON items and had one dress shrink to tunic length but am otherwise a fan.

Love sf minus parking and cost of living relative to ohio, but oh such beauty and omg for good asian food! Im in cincinnati, so if you have any fave food spots, i'd love a breakdown! Have an amazing transition.

    1. Too cool - I don't meet many fellow Cincinnatians in the blogosphere! I like Sichuan Bistro, Taqueria Maya, House of Sun, Senate, Turophilia, Streetpops, and Sabor Peruano :) Feel free to email me!
