My first instinct was to pair it with a black blazer but then I wondered if there was too much contrast with a bright red skirt. I then tried a gold cardigan for a more muted look. Which do you prefer?

Any trends that took you a while to warm up to?

Very nice! I like how you styled the skirt with a bow front blouse! True Lady Like Chic look, both the cardigan and the blazer looks fantastic. Thank you for mentioning me :)
ReplyDeletei am addict to animal prints! love your blouse! xoooo
ReplyDeletefirst of all, your DIY blouse is phenomenal!! love it so much. i have to agree with... i've been a very conservative girl throughout college, but i think i came out of my shell and began to experiment more with fashion after i started living in new york city. :) i love animal prints now... but only do one at a time, for example... i'll do shoes... but not wear another animal-print... like a scarf or a clutch with it. my rule is one at a time. :) both looks are great. i prefer the beige cardigan look during the day time... but would definitely wear the dark blazer for dinners... or night-time events. you style it very well. :)
ReplyDeletehope you're having a great day!

So cute!! It's so hard to find the perfect bow blouse, you solved the dilemma, make it yourselfT
ReplyDeleteI prefer it with the black cardigan because it makes it more visually interesting- the contrast is very appropriate in this bright, holiday ready outfit. Btw, leopard is a neutral! Before you say I'm wrong think of at least one outfit where leopard is inappropriate. It works with pastels, metallics, darks, neutrals, brights, etc. so you're being conservative with your lovely leopard neutral :)
ReplyDeleteIf you like the gold cardigan better (though it washes you out :( ) change the bag. Black actually clashes too much with this look.
ReplyDeleteIf it's any consolation, I'm STILL warming up to leopard, haha. Slowly but surely... perhaps I'll add a leopard belt to my ever-growing stash this year :)
ReplyDeleteI do think the black blazer adds too much of a contrast with this animal print. I like how the soft yellows and not-completely-black dots look against the lighter cardi. I'll go out on a limb and say perhaps even try it with a yellow cardi? Or go without because I think the top would look great by itself with the red skirt.
You know I am OBSESSED with animal print :) I think it looks best with the black blazer, because believe it or not it tones down the animal print. It is such a cute look!
ReplyDeleteohh such a cute red skirt and love the animal. i prefer it with the neutral cardigan!
ReplyDeleteLove the cardigan look!! Im still looking for a toned down animal print blouse.. lets see. Havent gathered the courage yet to go bold :-)
ReplyDeleteYay to letting loose. I think I did too. I love the contrast of the blouse and the red skirt. Great outfit.

I need a change of career, maybe go take sewing classes instead. It's so awesome that you can just make clothes at your own whim. I use to sew patches together for my dolls when I was a kid but I was never able to get them onto the doll - that's why I scratched off seamstress from my list of careers ;)
ReplyDeleteI think the black would be good if you had black pumps...definitely a bold look!
ReplyDeleteI prefer the red with the golds/neutrals, though!
You did an amazing job on this blouse! I can't wait to see your scarf and belt! :)
I like the 2nd outfit w/the neutrals but I'm just boring like that :) I love leopard...looks great on you with the red.
ReplyDeleteCan I come taking sewing lessons from you?
Love you gorgeous blouse-and of course, the pumps!

Your red skirt is so cute! There's just something about the color red that really looks great on you! I can't decide which outfit is better. The neutral cardigan is the safest, but the black blazer still works since bold/contrasting colors look great this season! BTW, I'm excited you tried your first macaron too! Did you try the Taste of Belgium in Cincinnati? I love looking for bakeries, so I tried to look up some for you just now, hehe. Or have you tried this place: http://friedasdesserts.com
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this.
ReplyDeleteIt is very interesting.
I prefer the one with the neutral cardi esp if you are wearing light colored shoes. I am getting more into animal print too!
